With Sci-Fi on the Rock less than three months away, it's time for our traditional preparation workshops to begin!

A number of members of the local cosplay community, Avalon Expo, Sci-Fi on the Rock, Stage & Studio Supply, and Steampunk Newfoundland have an initial event to pump you up that's open for everyone to come and learn about costume building!

Have peices you'd like to work on? Have odds and ends to swap? Want to learn the basics of cosplay from seasoned professionals? Be sure not to miss this event

This event will feature:

Lily Hunter-Anderson (Lily Hunter Cosplay and Props) --> Worbla

Hamilton Cornish (FoamWerx) --> Working with EVA

Vanessa Pinsent --> Fabric with foam and articulation for moving parts

Ben Strickland (ZomBen Cosplay) --> Cosplay with EVA

Ryan Skanes --> 3D Printing and Electronics for Cosplay

Stephen Lewis (Stage and Studio Supplies)

--> Airbrushing, makeup, and SFX

Erica Bussey --> Tackling large props

Costume swap area: bring your old or gently used costume pieces, building materials, and accessories, and swap them for pieces you might need!

Builders area: have something you'd like to work on? Bring it along! Get tips from your fellow cosplayers!

We will also be working towards having a canteen run by the Avalon Expo and Sci-fi on the Rock volunteer teams, so stay tuned for details!

We're in the Landing this time, which is on the 3rd floor of the MUN University Centre (room # UC 3018). Comingthrough the bus stop entrance, go up the large flight of stairs (or take the elevator), and then take a U-turn to the right of the stairs. The room will be straight ahead from there.
