It's time to put on your best steampunk swim attire and strut your stuff on the beach with Steampunk Ottawa.
Picnic stuff as usual.
There will be a Bathing Costume contest as well as a Swim Fashion Show for the Cameras. So please Ladies, Gentlemen and all others, do wear your finest in Steampunk swim garments. I will be asking all our wonderfully creative folks to donate small prizes that can be bundled into baskets for prizes. Categories will be Best Lady, Best Gent, Best under 13.
We will set up towards the east end of the beach, on grass, near/under trees, away from the huge crowds and on the beach's grassy edge.
Games and fun: tug'o'war; limbo dance; beach darts; (possibly) video making; sand castle building; the body bury; and much more. Please feel free to suggest ideas and/or bring beach activities for all to share.
There are 2 large free parking lots: one as you enter the park to the south of the beach and another on the west side of the beach beside the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre. Carpooling is also a great way to go. So if you are driving and have room, please offer a ride to others. Thank you.
Buses: from Lincoln Fields Station #16 Britannia goes right into the park to the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre.
Biking: the bike paths go from the Ottawa River Parkway right into Britannia Park and through to Carling at Andrew Haydon Park
