Greetings Folks

I hope your are staying warm so far this winter. :)

I just posted a draft set of Parasol Duelling rules up at my blog here:

http://gearsgogglesnsteam.blogspot.ca/2014/01/let-games-begin-part-2.html

These were inspired by a photo of  a couple of lovely Ladies duelling at the Beakerhead festival in Calgary in September.

Tea Duelling has become quite popular I see, and it occurred to me that Parasol Duelling might add a bit of dash to our gatherings.

I am also working on an equivalent set of Cane Duelling rules for the Gentlemen.

Who knows someday there might even be a pairs competition :)

Please take a look and let me know what you think.
These are draft rules so subject to changes and amendments due to practical issues.

I have received a lot of interest in my Rules for Parasol Duelling and we will actually be having a public demo at an event this coming weekend!

I just posted a bit of Faux Acedemic fun concerning Parasol Duelling on my Blog.

Check it out!

Well we had the first ever public demo of Parasol Duelling at a classic movie night here in Calgary. The movie was the 1960 version of the Time Machine so the event had a Steampunk theme with vendors, group tables and live via Skype interview with G.D. Falksen.
We did our Parasol Duelling Demo just before the skype presentation.
It was cool to see something that you have created actually come together like that :)

If you are on the Book of Faces you can see some photos from the event here:

There are photos of the Parasol Duelling Demo here:

Definitely fun and we will be doing more with the aim of holding formal competitions in the Summer!

Some fabulous photos of the event including the duels here:

There was enough interest generated to start a Parasol Duelling League.

Madame Taxus Hemlocks's Parasol Duelling League for Steampunk Ladies, has a Facebook group here:

Lots of fun :D

Thanks for these rules...most illuminating! I am a newbie here from the UK. Hope you don't mind but I have posted about your marvellous game in the UK. People will be very interested to hear what you, our Canadian cousins, are up to! :)

Hi LuneCat

I don't mind at all thanks for spreading the word!
Do you mind posting the link to where you posted this so I can follow up if there is interest?

I am always keen to see peoples reactions and how they make out trying the rules!
