I have been writing a blog for Ottawa Life magazine for quite some time called "Putting the Science in Science Fiction." I thought you all might find my latest blog particularly interesting.

Given all of the industrial and other uses for helium, and the finite supply, I wonder if it will run out before airships can ever become a practical and common method of transport.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have a great number of other articles up on the same site, though they tend to be about typical science fiction topics rather than steampunk ones.

Late to seeing this but it was an awesome article! Very engrossing and very exciting to hear of all the current, real applications of airships!
