Steam on Queen

Posted by Lee A. Farruga on June 9, 2012 at 7:10 AM

On the afternoon of Friday, June 22nd I'll be travelling for many hours, and through Toronto Friday rush hour traffic (for those who know it, it's a Herculian feat), in order to attend a steampunk street fair!

Steam on Queen is the creation of Adam Smith of Canadian Steam Productions.  It has been in the works for over a year and promises to be an outstanding event. Not only that, but as well... it's FREE!

Held on the grounds, as well as in many of the beautiful indoor areas, of historic Campbell House on Queen Street in Toronto, Steam on Queen will play host to an amazing array of entertainments and spectacles. There will also be a huge number of merchants to entice you with their delightful wares.

As well, bring your art supplies and join in the special edition of Steampunk Lifedrawing: Pride, Prejudice and Zombies Edition.

Help The Lost Ladies as they search for the perfect cup of tea.

I will be wandering the grounds and greeting people. If you come and say hello, and ask me nicely, I may even have a little something for you.  Do come and join me.  We'll have a lovely time!

You can find out more at Steam on Queen

Very much looking forward to it...and to seeing you again! Just too much geography in the way. We need an event to come and see you in Ottawa. It's been some years since we've been there.

What serendipity! The 22nd is our 10th wedding anniversary and I booked the day off from work, and I might just be able to convince hubby to go to TO for this! Not as brave as Lee Ann though, we would go up on Thursday evening and stay at a hotel. :) Any recommendations?

Redhawk, that is great news. Here you go:
For those coming from out of town... there are a number of hotels within walking distance to Campbell House (160 Queen Street West), including
ml?propertyID=271 and and
town-eaton-centre-hotel/ and there are many more. If you Google hotels in that area you have your pick of quite a few.

It's confirmed, we shall be there! Actually decided to go for a hotel in Scarborough, cheaper rates and we get a hot tub. :) We'll just get parking downtown. Can't wait!
