It was my plan to attend, but I'm afraid I cannot get the time away from work.:(

I'm planning to attend as both my first con and my first time dressing steampunk

I was planning to use HalCon as a Kick-Off event for NaNoWriMo. I'm still kinda cheesed about not being able to. But I'm pursuing my MA in steampunk so I guess I shouldn't complain. Still, what a great event right in Halifax though.

Hope I can attend. I'm working on my outfit, at least.

Ahoy!  You'll find a number of Halifax's steampunk crowd [We "Vernies?"  "Vernians?"  "JVers?"  Hmm...] at this autumn's HalCon, but you'll find it not in October like last year.

This year's event will be November 12-13, 2011, in Halifax.  You can find more information at http://hal-con.com/ -- including a considerate link to the Halifax steampunk crowd's very own facebook page, located down the right-hand margin [should you be the sort to use those inter-tubes and such like].

We (Jules verne Steampunk Association of Halifax) are working out some of the various events that we will be hosting at Halcon.  Right now I can confirm we will be hosting a High tea as well as hosting a Society booth (With fun and games).  We are looking into putting together some seminars as well.  more info on this is coming.
