About Me

Well, hallo there everyone! I am a humble history major at the University of Alberta.

(All right, granted, I am not that humble, but let us continue...)

My love of history (especially what they call the "Long Nineteenth Century", from the French Revolution through to the Great War) combines with my love of fantasy and costumes in Steampunk. If anybody is looking for recommendations of non-fiction texts on a particular subject of this era, feel free to send me a line, and I am certain that I can find you something. I could tell you the most fascinating things about American Civil War Medicine, popular perceptions of death, the dangers (and advantages!) of hoopskirts, how one washes such voluminous garments (hint: it's in pieces), etc. I will not pretend to be omniscient, but I can certainly point you in the right direction if you are looking for research to inspire you!

(Je suis anglophone, mais je suis aussi bilingue. S'il y a des autres francophiles ici, n'hésitez pas de me contacter!)
