Born to this world as Tracey, and known in the steamier worlds as the Steam Wench.
Have been quite involved in the Steampunk scene here in Vancouver, on the West Coast. I'm a happy costumer and into smaller-scale crafting for myself - mostly because I don't have the skills to do the big stuff! (Ah, for metalworking knowledge and skills!) I am also avidly into the growing selection of steampunk literature out there. I also write a blog on my forays into the steampunk world. Everyone is welcome to join me at The Steam Wench's Salon.
Join me at The Steam Wench's Salon - Being a collection of sundry thoughts, how-to's, & random musings from a costumer / tinkerer / literati steampunk.
I have also found myself accidentally running a local steampunk community. Apparently this is what happens when one decides to hold a steampunk event - for me it was a craft meet - and then someone suggested a book club, which was a great idea, but no one organized it, so after a few months I started that too ... And hey presto, despite my holding a full-time job, I'm also running a local group in my "free" time and out of my own pocket. But it is very exciting, and certainly an adventure, and has allowed me to meet some very awesome people. You can see local Vancouver steampunk activities either on Facebook, in the open group https://www.facebook.com/groups/VanSteam/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Vancouverites for Steampunk or on our website.
