About Me

Melissa Wartenberg is a self taught full-time professional artist, photographer, model and has been involved in events as a public speaker, MC and also creating themed events as an event planner. She is an avid tea drinker and until her retirement in 2014, activly lead one of the largest Canadian Steampunk groups. Melissa travels across Canada selling her work at shows, despite her physical handicap, and has been selling her work for over 5 years

Melissa is currently most noted for her work within the genre and style of Steampunk, specifically her custom eye wear inspired by the vintage and antique styles popular as far back as the 1890’s and recreating them for costume use. With her handmade work she organizes, models, photographs and collaborates with other local models and photographers frequently to create fun and creative images to share with her fans and friends. You can purchase her works that you see in her photography through her online etsy shop AtticRaiders ( www.AtticRaiders.etsy.com ) or through her secondary business The Attic ( www.intheattic.ca ) which prominently features handsome brass and wood work accessories with limited edition lace fans, parasols and mechanical pocket watches.
